Chicory, Cicoria Rosa, Radicchio La Rosa del Veneto Pink Chicory, known in Italy as Radicchio La Rosa del Veneto, is a loose heading radicchio with a vivid pink color and subtle pink markings. The flavor is less bitter than other chicories. The best color is achieved when it matures in cool weather. Start seeds in mid- to late summer and transplant to the garden in early fall.
Chicory, Cicoria Variegata Di Lusia (Precoce). An early variegated, vigorous variety with light green leaves with contrasting red colouration in a tightly wrapped ball shape It's tightly wrapped green and red mottled leaves are both tasty and very crunchy. Good resistence to low temperatures.
Chicory, Cicoria Spadona. Mid-early, upright rustic plant. Long green leaves with light blond spine, with an intense bitter sweet flavor. Cut and come again. Spadona chicory is an Italian variety also known as Sword chicory, Spadona da Taglio and in Italy, Cicoria. Botanically classified as Cichorium intybus, the word ‘spadona’ comes from the name of a medieval Spanish sword and is a nod to its shape. Spadona chicory is known as a cutting variety of chicory.
