Physalis Franchetti Chinese Lantern

Physalis Franchetti Chinese Lantern is a rustic annual plant and can be sown in the garden or in containers.  Franchetti Chinese Lantern is a striking relative of tomatillos that is easy to grow and makes a long lasting dried flower. Its small white flowers are followed by orange fruit encased in a papery, bright orange “lantern”. The orange “lantern” retains its color for a long time as a dried flower. The plants will spread by rhizomes and self seeding  Pick during the summer for sun drying and then use for decorations.
