For bees and butterflies for optimal results, make sure that you sow the seeds in fall if you're in a place with mild winters, or wait until early spring if you have harsher winters. They should be directly sown in rows, ideally 6 seeds/foot as early as spring when the soil has been worked on, for optimal results. Ensure they are 6-12 inches apart. For the best results it is easier to start indoors in 2 inch pots, at least 4-6 weeks prior to planting them outside in the garden or on land. They should be kept at 65 degrees Fahrenheit and germinations is between 1-2 weeks. It is best to plant them in full sun, or partial sun in warmer climates.
